Carlo Salzani

Carlo Salzani is currently a Research Fellow at the Messerli Research Institute of Vienna working on the FWF-funded project “The Limits of Imagination: Animals, Empathy, Anthropomorphism.” His research and teaching focus on biopolitics, posthumanism and animal studies. His recent publications include the books Walter Benjamin and the Actuality of Critique: Essays on Violence and Experience (2021) and Agamben and the Animal (2022), and the co-edited volumes Saramago’s Philosophical Heritage (with Kristof Vanhoutte, 2018) and Animality in Contemporary Italian Philosophy (with Felice Cimatti, 2020).
